Wallaroo Camping Hire are providing a variety of camping options including pre-pitched camping packages just 200 meters from the Thunder Hub. Camping onsite at the Thunder Campground is the perfect way to experience all that the Thunder Rally has to offer!

Camping packages get you access to Thunder Camping from Thursday 29th September until Monday 3rd of October, which means that you have the flexibility to come and go as suits. 

There are three types of pre-pitched packages available to suit your style: Nomad, Tent Village and Glamping.

If you feel something is missing, have a look at our Add-Ons for all the extras you desire!

All packages are set-up and packed-up for you, and include a communal chill out zone kitted out with a complimentary charging station and basic appliances. Furthermore, full toilet and shower amenities are on-site. If you need anything while at the campsite, a staff member will never be far away.

In addition to pre-pitched camping, our BYO camping option allows you to bring your own gear, and camp your way.

With tickets opening early, you do have the option to purchase a ticket while only paying a 10% deposit. This ensures that the package you want will be reserved for you, and you can pay the remaining cost when you're ready (before EOD August 30th 2022).

There are a variety of payment options available with all packages!
Payment plans can include installment and laybuy options, just give us a call and we'll figure out what's best for you.

How they work:
  • Call us up, and we can take your booking over the phone
  • Pay 10% (minimum) of the order up front to lock it in
  • Organise fortnightly or monthly automatic payments (these will come out on Fridays)
  • Call us up at any time to make extra payments
  • All payment plans must be paid in full by the 30th of August. Your card will automatically be charged on the 30th of August if there is an outstanding balance to be paid

FAQ's - Accommodation Packages

Do I need to set-up my own camping gear?
​No, that’s our job!  The set-up, pack-up and maintenance of your tent and other gear is included in the package price: you won’t have to lift a finger!
What amenities are included?
Toilets and showers are included in all packages. ​
How do the add-ons work?
 ​Some items are specific to particular packages, such as adding a stretcher to the Tent Village packages, while others are available for all packages. You can find out which add-ons work with your package in the Add-Ons section!
Where is the campsite located?
​The campsite is located at ​The Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre, 503 Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth.

How far is from the rally site is the campground?
​The campsite is around 200 metres from the festival arena, so very close to all things you need to access! 
Where can I park?
There will be parking available, with access in and out from an entry point off Jack Smyth Drive. When we release a detailed site map, the parking information will be included. 
How do I get there?
AELEC is a 12 minute drive from Tamworth train station- follow B56, then turn right onto A15 before turning onto Marius Street and arriving at AELEC - Google is also your friend here!
What does 'quantity' refer to when I'm booking my package?
​​When you order, the quantity is the number of packages you are ordering. For example the 2 person Glamping package sleeps 2 people. If you order 2x 2 person Glamping packages, you have ordered 2 Glamping tents, which will sleep 2 people in each tent. 
Is there a payment plan available?
Yes! We have a range of options available for all Rally campers, including an installment payment plan. Have a look at our 'payment options' section for all the information about our variety of payment options!
My friends and I want to camp in a nomad tent together - is this possible?
Absolutely! Just make sure that one person books for all of you so that you don't end up split-up.
I love the look of the tents, are these exactly what will be at Tamworth when I arrive?
​The images on this site are a representation of what will be at Tamworth, but are not necessarily the exact tents that will be at the festival. The images include an accurate representation of what each package will include. 
Is there a bond required?
​No, we don’t require a bond, just that you look after the gear! 
Is there a processing and handling fee?
Who likes processing and handling fees? We don't! When you checkout your cart and enter your credit card details, you will only be charged the amount as listed in the cart. 
Are there any rules associated with the camp site?
​There are a few rules to ensure the safety for all at the Wallaroo Campsite:
No camp fires are permitted within the site.
No domestic pets or livestock are permitted within the site at any time by site occupiers or visitors.
No smoking within the campsite.
Only campers with Wallaroo Campsite wristbands are allowed on site.
What are the terms and conditions?
A terms and conditions statement will be released shortly, but there won't be any surprises! 
Is the Wallaroo campsite family friendly? ​
​Yes! The Wallaroo Campsite is designed for all ages, so you’re welcome to come along with your family or your friends!
Can I bring my pet?
​No animals are allowed on site, so pets need to be left at home while you’re at the rally. 
What security is there on-site?
​A Wallaroo staff member will be on-site for the duration of the festival. They will be keeping the site secure, and contactable at all times when needed. In addition, each tent has a padlock so your gear can be kept safe. 
WILL THE CAMPSITE BE NOISY?
​The campsite is close to all the action, but also not on top of the main rally arena, so we are confident you won't feel like someone is starting a motorbike inside your tent while you try to sleep! If you're particularly looking for a quiet area, we can aim to have you further from the action.
I WANT TO SLEEP AT THE WALLAROO CAMPSITE FOR ONE NIGHT- IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Yes! You are welcome to arrive and leave when you would like, with the earliest check-ins on Thursday afternoon, and latest check-out on Monday mid-morning. Simply put the dates you wish to stay in when checking out to let us know when you'll be arriving and departing. 
Note, packages cannot be edited based on a shorter stay at the Wallaroo campsite.
​ARE ANY OF THE TENTS POWERED?
None of the tent packages come with power, however, you can add the power add-on to any package!
